Frequently Asked Questions
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing that uses a disposable and sterile manual tool to implant colored pigment into the dermis. This process creates incredibly realistic hair strokes that can help shape, fill, and correct your natural brow, or reconstruct a lack of natural brow. Microblading is also referred to as eyebrow feathering, bespoke brows, brow embroidery, microstroking, etc.
In order to provide you with the most comfortable experience possible, a topical numbing anesthetic of lidocaine is applied before and during procedure. Although pain is relative to the individual, most have described it as nothing more than the sensation of tweezing, while others feel nothing at all and end up taking a cat nap. There are extended advisories in the pre-care instructions to limit the procedure sensitivities even further.
The key factors that differentiate the two forms of tattooing are the devices used, the composition of the color implanted, the density in the skin receiving the tattoo, and the depth in which the color reaches in the dermis. Body tattoos use a machine that is able to apply more pressure in order to reach a deeper level in skin that is generally denser, where as cosmetic tattoos are more delicately applied due to the thinner nature of the facial skin. The color deposited on the body is in the form of an ink versus the color deposited on the face which is in the form of a pigment. All of these factors leave you with a bold, bright, “for life” body tattoo, and a soft, crisp, natural cosmetic tattoo that will naturally fade out around 1-3 years.
